SICPA finalises the acquisition of the Olivetti I-jet production unit

SICPA's Government Security Solutions Division, a leading provider of integrated government security solutions and secure Track & Trace for products subject to excise duty, has acquired the production unit of Olivetti I-Jet, a subsidiary of Olivetti S.p.A., based in Italy.

This acquisition is a logical follow up to SICPA’s earlier take over Olivetti I-Jet’s R&D activities on 1 December 2013.

As a result, SICPA now has at its disposal a first-rate industrial and technical site in Italy for digital-marking technologies, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microfluidics management solutions. These key competencies complete the company’s technology portfolio in the areas of traceability and security, further consolidating the company’s leading position in these fields.

This acquisition also reinforces SICPA’s presence in Italy and demonstrates its commitment and willingness to keep cutting-edge technology at the Arnad site in the Aosta Valley where a total of 43 people hold skilled positions.
