International Women's Day
Today, March 8, is International Women’s Day. This day recognises women for their achievements regardless of nationality, ethnicity, language, culture, economy or politics. It is an opportunity to review the past but above all prepare the future and create opportunities for women.
UN Women’s 2024’s theme is “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”. In a world facing multiple crises that are putting immense pressure on communities, achieving gender equality is one of the key challenges in the next few years.
For the fourth consecutive year since our first Swiss-based participation in 2017, SICPA has decided to honour all 737 women working for the Group worldwide.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility approach, SICPA aims to generate positive social impact and is committed to actions and projects promoting diversity and professional opportunities, as well as supporting social, cultural, educational, environmental and scientific activities. This year the company will mark International Women’s Day and this commitment by supporting two projects that contribute to the advancement of women: one local in Switzerland and one worldwide.
SICPA will hence donate to the Tech4eva in Switzerland which is a Femtech community and a 6-month equity free Femtech start-up acceleration programme for companies developing innovative solutions to improve technologies relating to women’s health with global reach.
SICPA will also donate to the Girls in tech which is a nonprofit organisation founded in 2007 by Adriana Gascoigne and is dedicated to eliminating the gender gap in tech. The community counts more than 60 000 members in 50 chapters around the world.
