What convinced you to join SICPA?
 

I joined SICPA because I appreciate the mission and values of the company. SICPA stands for sustainability, innovation and advanced solutions to protect the integrity and value of several products and brands in compliance with high standards.
It provides a great opportunity for me to develop my skills in oil and gas integrity management and be involved in a great project to help my country increase tax collection by inspecting the illicit trade of fuel products.

What was your previous experience before joining SICPA?

I have some experience in the detergent industry where I was responsible for the quality control of detergent and raw materials as well as for the laboratory experiments to develop some new formulations. I also had a little experience in the oil and gas industry in South Africa.

Why do you enjoy working at SICPA?

I really enjoy working at SICPA because of the great, harmonious and cooperative internal work environment that has allowed me to develop my skills and potential as a professional.

What did SICPA bring to you professionally and personally?

Professionally, SICPA gave me the opportunity to improve my skills, competencies and leadership capacity. I work with different departments which has given me the chance to develop my team-working skills.

Personally, SICPA has helped me realise several individual achievements and has given me the chance to grow and build my career alongside my private life.

What is your main objective in your job?

To ensure the integrity and quality control of markers and fuel marking.

Describe your typical working day at SICPA?

My typical working day at SICPA starts with performing analysis and quality control tests for marked fuel and dilution of markers using the sampling procedure and displaying the test results in the laboratory book report.

Then I supervise marking operators in the measurement and handling of markers in the warehouse and ensure that health and safety standards are verified during the process.

The last step involves managing the storage and treatment of liquid waste for further destruction.

What kind of interactions do you experience between teams, departments or even countries in your daily work at SICPA?

The interactions between teams and departments in my daily work at SICPA are excellent. I always strive to preserve a healthy environment among colleagues in all departments, showing that I am ready to give support when necessary. I also try to approach other departments whenever necessary to find solutions that are directly linked to my activities.

If you had any advice to give to people wishing to follow the same path, what would it be?

I would say that SICPA is the right place for someone to learn and grow professionally, taking advantage of a healthy environment in which to work and acquire experiences in the different departments of the company.

What is your educational background? (diplomas, certifications, …)?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's degree in Hydrocarbons Processing Engineering.

How do you manage your professional and personal life?

It is important to keep a strong work-life balance to keep myself happy and productive. I schedule my tasks every day and try to be highly flexible and productive in the execution of my tasks in a timely manner. This way, I have free time to spend with my family and to do other activities.

Ethics, Integrity and Challenge.
